Jonathan January

Mr. January is the founder and Managing Partner of Silverbrook Capital, LLC. Silverbrook is an advisory firm specializing in alternative investments with a specific focus on the power, real estate and natural resource industries.

Mr. January currently serves as a director at Rollcast Energy, Inc., Alpha Biodiesel, LLC and Ventana Research, Inc. From June 2000 to December 2008, Mr. January served as Partner and General Counsel of Energy Investors Funds, a private equity fund located in Boston, Massachusetts. While at EIF, Mr. January oversaw equity fundraising of approximately $2.5 billion for a series of domestic and international power funds. He also led and participated in over 60 fund investments that included development projects, M&A, asset acquisitions and joint ventures.

In addition, Mr. January oversaw over two dozen project and fund financings and refinancings with major international banks. His development experience includes all types of generation equipment throughout the United States and internationally.

From 1998 to May 2000, Mr. January served as Latin America Counsel for AEP Resources, Inc., the international development subsidiary of American Electric Power. From 1995 to 1998, Mr. January served as General Counsel to Intercontinental Resources Ltd., an international mining company located in Denver, Colorado. From 1994 to 1995 Mr. January served as General Counsel to Communications Systems International, Inc., an international long distance telecommunications company located in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

From 1992 through 1994, Mr. January served as corporate counsel to Harper First, Inc. in Chicago, Illinois, where his duties included overseeing the legal aspects of the firm’s international trading activities.

Mr. January holds a B.A. in Economics from Wayne State University and a J.D. from the University of California at Berkeley. Mr. January is also a CFA charterholder.
